She Means Business: Turn Your Ideas into Reality and Become a Wildly Successful Entrepreneur by Carrie Green
“Every single part of our entrepreneurial journey will begin as an idea that will only become reality when we show up and bring it into the world.” - Carrie Green
Dear Fellow Reader,
Though this book could have more how-tos, I repeatedly return because I need the good affirmation vibes.
There are a hundred different ways to do something, and even if someone tells you their step-by-step process for making it happen, you may need a different system.
So, when I return to this book, I am not looking for step-by-step guidance but a pep talk. Because becoming a new version of yourself is terrifying. However, it seems less scary when I turn to people who have done what I want to be doing and who cheer me on instead of doom-scrolling on social media.
And that is what Carrie Green brings to the table. In She Means Business: Turn Your Ideas into Reality and Become a Wildly Successful Entrepreneur by Carrie Green. I first came across this book in 2020 after I finished Atomic Habits by James Clear. I was in a new, scary place as I had just lost my job, and it was a few months before Covid became a thing.
The Archaeological Tour I worked for closed their New York branch, and I was still determining the next steps. I wanted to move back to Rome but could only apply for a self-employment visa. So, I was setting out on my Entrepreneurial journey and wanted to make writing my primary form of income.
But I needed to figure out what I was doing or where to start. So, while doing research on where to start, I came across She Means Business, and I am grateful I did. While I was looking for practical ways to make writing my full-time income, I also just needed someone to tell me it was possible.
Though Carriers's primary focus isn't writing, she does have a background as an entrepreneur. From an early age, her parents introduced her to entrepreneurship, visualization, and affirmation practices. She then went on to run several successful businesses and now runs the largest female entrepreneur community with the Female Entrepreneur Association, precisely the type of influence I wanted.
I instantly clicked with Carrie's message and found her relatable. I also liked that she shared her story and the stories of others in her community. Having a mix of different businesses makes you see many options.
So, suppose you want to unlock your entrepreneurial potential and accomplish your goals. In that case, I highly recommend reading She Means Business: Turn Your Ideas into Reality and Become a Wildly Successful Entrepreneur by Carrie Green.
